Active Ingredient (in each 5 mL)

Purpose

Ibuprofen 100 mg (NSAID*)

Pain Reliever, Fever Reducer

*nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug

Dye Free Berry Flavour:

Acesulfame potassium, citric acid, flavours, glycerin, polysorbate 80, pregelatinized corn starch, purified water, sodium benzoate, sucrose, xanthan gum.

Fruit Flavour:

Acesulfame potassium, citric acid, D&C yellow no. 10, FD&C red no. 40, flavour, glycerin, polysorbate 80, pregelatinized corn starch, purified water, sodium benzoate, sucrose, xanthan gum.

Grape Flavour:

Acesulfame potassium, citric acid, D&C red no. 33, FD&C blue no. 1, FD&C red no. 40, flavour, glycerin, polysorbate 80, pregelatinized starch, purified water, sodium benzoate, sucrose, xanthan gum.

Bubble Gum Flavour:

Acesulfame potassium, citric acid, FD&C red no. 40, flavour, glycerin, polysorbate 80, pregelatinized starch, purified water, sodium benzoate, sucrose, xanthan gum.

Shake suspension well before use.

Use only the enclosed measuring cup or a measured teaspoon to dose this product. Do not use any other dosing device.

Measure dose with the dosage cup provided and ensure the complete dose is taken.

For accurate dosing, follow the instructions carefully.

Find the right dose on the chart. If possible, use weight to dose, otherwise use age.

Single dose may be repeated every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses of ibuprofen per day unless advised by a doctor.

Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain unless directed by a doctor. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

While uncommon, if stomach upset occurs, Children’s MOTRIN® can be given with food or milk. If stomach upset persists, talk to your doctor.

Overdose:
In case of accidental overdose, even if there are no symptoms, call a doctor or Poison Control Centre at once.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

Stomach bleeding warning: This product may cause stomach bleeding. Symptoms may include:

  • feeling faint

  • vomiting blood

  • bloody or black stools

The chance of stomach bleeding is higher if your child has had stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, takes a blood thinner or steroid drug, takes with other drugs containing an NSAID like acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), ibuprofen, naproxen, or prescription anti-inflammatory drugs.

Allergy alert: Ibuprofen may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people allergic to ASA. Stop use and get medical help right away if your child has: severe itching, hives, swelling of eyes and mouth, skin blisters/rash, difficulty breathing, shock.

BEFORE giving Children’s MOTRIN® to your child, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have a child that

  • has: high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease or had heart failure, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, blood clotting disorder

  • is under a doctor’s care for any other serious condition

  • takes any other medication especially daily low-dose ASA (81 to 325 mg), anticoagulants or corticosteroids

Do not use:

  • with ASA, other NSAIDs or ibuprofen products

  • if your child is: allergic to ibuprofen, ASA, salicylates, NSAIDs, or any ingredients in this product, dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhea or ack of fluid intake

  • if your child has: ulcers or stomach bleeding, recurring ulcers , inflammatory bowel disease, lupus, serious liver

  • or kidney problems, high potassium in the blood, growth inside their nose

  • right before or after heart surgery

When using this product

  • take with food or milk if upset stomach occurs

  • the risk of heart attack or stroke may increase if your child uses more than directed or for longer than directed.

Stop use and ask a doctor if

  • your child has: signs of stomach bleeding (see Stomach bleeding warning above), chest pain

  • pain gets worse or lasts for more than 5 days

  • fever gets worse or lasts for more than 3 days

  • any new symptoms occur.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, call a Poison Control Centre or get medical help right away.

SIDE EFFECTS AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT THEM:

If unusual symptoms or any of the following reactions develop during treatment, stop use and see a doctor immediately:

  • skin rash or itching, dizziness, any change in vision, ringing or buzzing in the ears, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain or cramps, diarrhea or constipation, heartburn, bloating, fluid retention, indigestion, headache, decreased appetite

HOW TO STORE IT
Store at room temperature, 15°C - 30°C.
Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children.
