ONE CLUB HISTORY
It's a sport of kings and of common men. It's a game steeped in tradition that dates back centuries to the world’s first golf club of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. The origins of golf have been hotly debated for almost as long as the game has been played – dating back as early as the 12th century. Yet, with all we know and love about this great game, there’s still another debate raging: if you could play 18 holes with just one club, what club would you use?
Golf was originally played in sand dunes or rabbit runs using a stick and a pebble – not exactly high-tech but it did the trick. It's certainly come a long way since then, with the 14 clubs used today made of everything from graphite to titanium and sculpted for the best drive or putt achievable. But let's imagine we returned to the game's humble beginnings: If you could get a grip on just one club, would you use a wood, an iron or a wedge?
Avid golfers have been asking themselves - and each other – these questions for years. The debate has raged among enthusiasts about which club is the best. The answer may lie in your personality: Will you feel more confident with the consistency of a 7 iron, or does the advantage of a low iron's length outweigh its green side deficiencies? Find out if you can win with a Wedge or inspire with a low Iron at the MOTRIN® Canadian One Club Golf Tournament. Here's your chance to make our golf-loving forefathers proud. What's Your Game?
