How does MOTRIN* IB work?
Before we can tell you how MOTRIN* IB works, we need to tell you about pain and fever.
You might already know that when the human body is injured or sick, it produces certain substances called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in making you feel pain and they can also start a fever. Many years ago, some scientists figured out that if you get rid of prostaglandins, you could control pain and fever.
MOTRIN* IB contains an ingredient called ibuprofen. Ibuprofen temporarily stops the production of prostaglandins where they are being produced. So, if you've hurt your knee, MOTRIN* IB will stop the production of prostaglandins, and stop the pain, where it counts - in your knee.
