Who is affected?

Influenza and the common cold affect all age groups and can recur in any individual. Colds occur very frequently in children, with up to 12 colds a year - especially if the child is in school. The highest incidence of the cold and flu is in children ages 5 to 14 since they spend much of their time at school in close contact with their classmates.
