Muscle Aches & PainsRecommended TipsOnly you know which kinds of movements, and which postures (sitting, lying down or standing ) make your pain better or worse. Here are some tips to ease your aches and pains: - If your pain was caused by a repetitive strain injury, you should stop doing this activity until you are healed.
- If you have back problems, never sit up straight from a lying down position. Slowly roll onto one side and use the strength of your arms to push yourself up into a sitting position with your legs over the side of the bed. Sit for 30 to 60 seconds before attempting to stand to ensure stability and avoid lightheadedness or dizziness.
- If you are sitting or lying down, change position often to avoid further muscle cramping.
- Listen to your body. If something makes your pain significantly worse, avoid that activity.
